Very little wind at the start left Sufiana becalmed till the sea breeze died away and the system wind came in. The crew settled in great. One stayed on deck as watch while the rest lounged below. Once we got going we started to average 7 knots and overhauled other boats. In the ‘Start log’ there was an entry “Harness clip” . This led to an investigation of the harness clips and I decided that they should not be clipped to U bolts as they came undone so easily. Later I wrote to Yachting Monthly and they published my letter. We finished 46 hours after the start |
