From Poissy to Paris was quite a day’s run. We set off at 0620 and passed three locks during the day. As we entered Paris we started looking for the Eiffel tower. It took a long time to appear. At last there it was with the wee Statue of Liberty. Just after we passed the tower Jilly said ‘There’s somebody over there waving at us.’ It was Pierre with Paul on the left bank. Went over and picked them up losing the boat hook in the process.
We moored alongside Itza Purla again at the Touring Club de Paris and discussed how we were to continue. After several plans had been aired Pierre, Paul and I took Sufiana to the next lock on the Seine at Alfortville while Rick, Jilly and Holly went by train to Poissy with one bike to pick up the dormobile. We arranged to meet later in the evening to transfer all their goods to their vehicle. We arrived at the lock at 2000, moored, and went for couscous and Algerian wine at a corner café restaurant The other memorable landmark on this section was Notre Dame. At 2200 the dormobile arrived and we shifted the luggage. When we woke in the morning Rick was gone. We set off up the Seine at 0825.
